What People Are Saying About Us
"I had the privilege of sitting in on dress rehearsal this afternoon, and must report that ACMA Theater's Proof is a MUST see. Emma Younger, who hit her stride last year in the title roll of Coraline, fairly soars in the lead, as the daughter of a renown and deceased mathematician who, while dealing with her father's passing, seeks her own identity as an academic equal in his shadow and in his overwhelmingly male dominated field. Truman Fritz shows elegant dynamic in his portrayal of a protegè mathematician and potential romantic interest. All the tension of family loss, gender conflict, and romance, neatly tied together with a mathematical bow. You'll be talking about this story for a while."

“While watching ACMA Theatre Company’s performance of ‘Great Expectations,’ it was difficult to keep remembering that the roles were being played by high school age performers. Simply amazing! The final portion of the play left a number of the audience members around me in tears…..and that says it all about the quality of the actors and actresses that were on stage. To draw a basic, very human and caring response from a variety of attendees, spoke volumes to the talent that ACMA has inside the walls of the school. ACMA is a community jewel and should be readily embraced and supported by all of us lucky enough to have the good fortune to touch the work that is done in many areas that school has to offer.”

“The show (‘Great Expectations’) was absolutely wonderful, an excellent introduction to the school, the venue and your talented students. My husband and I were both very impressed, and moved by ‘Great Expectations.’ It was also a fun coincidence to discover that David Sikking was the show’s director and adaptor ~ I had the opportunity to work with him on stage several years ago. He’s a terrific actor and now I know an excellent director as well!"

“ Wow! ‘Great Expectations’ is one of my favorite books. I’m familiar with all the film versions. ACMA’s ‘Great Expectations’ was a great tribute to the book. I felt immersed in the story. I was impressed with the way ACMA filled that very deep stage…with multiple things happening. When Miss Havisham’s house burned, it was a brilliant piece of stagecraft. I was also really impressed with the performance of the kids. …After I saw the opening night, I made calls to people and told them to see it.”
